Apart from being part of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Culion, Joem Bascon is also proud to headline the latest Regal Films drama The Annulment where he plays the husband of Lovi Poe. “Last year pa yung shooting. First time namin to work with direk Mac (Alejandre) so inaalam namin nun kung paano siya mag-work and then yung vibe chill lang kasi matagal na rin kami magka-work ni Lovi so alam na namin yung isa’t isa. Before shooting started, nag-workshop kami and nag-usap na kami nila direk Mac. Siguro with the legal terms, si Lovi may nakausap na friend niya na lawyer,” he told PUSH.

With the film tackling the issue of annulment, Joem said he has a better understanding of how it is done as compared to divorce and separation between couples. “Actually parang same lang kasi sila kasi kung ang divorce terminating your marriage, ang annulment is you void it na parang walang nangyari. So I guess it’s almost the same, parang yung terminologies lang. Yung takeaway ko siguro after the film, after nung ginagawa ko siya, nagkaroon pa rin ng hope eh within me. I think kahit na may pinagdadaanan kayo as a married couple tapos nag-end up talaga kayo na wala ng maayos, kasi time apart or time away from each other would heal yung parang wounds na nagawa niyo sa isa’t isa. And I think yung takeaway namin is meron ka talagang natututunan pag hindi na kayo magkasama,” he explained.

During The Annulment grand launch held last October 23, Joem also revealed what he found out about his new leading lady who is also a longtime friend in showbiz and his neighbor in real life. “Ngayon ang bagong discovery ko sa kanya, siyempre ang tagal ko na siyang kakilala, grabe siya mag-jog sa morning. Before mag-work nag-ja-jog pa rin siya. I think mababaw lang yung nalaman ko. Before kasi kapitbahay ko kasi siya so medyo may alam ako sa mga nangyayari (laughs) and ngayon na-discover ko na fit and healthy na si Lovi pagbalik. Iba na siya,” he shared.
