1. Forgive yourself.
Who hasn’t made a mistake they wish they could erase from their past? But in the long run, knowing what you did wrong means you can only do things better in the future, right? Being kind to oneself is a very personal gift that can be your first step towards moving on and improving yourself. In the film, Burn (Gerald Anderson’s character) took failure both in love and at work to heart which made it hard for him to move on which led him to further pain.

2. Just Smile.
Sometimes your heart and mind may not be aligned, but a smile can help perk you up even when you feel like crying. Pia Wurtzbach’s character Abi showed how much value a smile can have if given and taken from the right person. Keeping positive in any situation and smiling through your troubles can also keep you looking attractive and irresistible like Pia!

3. Be Brave.
It took a drastic move for Gerald’s character Burn to leave his entire life behind and shut his mind away from the world but in the end, he will find out that running away isn’t really being brave and is not the best solution. Courage can sometimes mean having to be uncomfortable, it means facing your fears, and choosing to stay even when things get awkward. Sometimes it can also mean having to say goodbye to the people who weren’t good for you in the long run even if it will hurt.

4. Gratitude is the Best Attitude.
Sometimes when some people get sad, lonely, or depressed, they tend to close themselves off from the world and choose to think the worst of people and situations. Gerald’s character Burn suffers so much he totally forgets about the people around him who have been giving him unconditional love and care. This is why being grateful is not just a one-way street, it’s not just about recognizing you are loved but enjoying the feeling that you are not so unloved after all.

5. Love Yourself.
There are no big spoilers when it comes to the love Burn and Abi have for each other in My Perfect You, but there is a bigger revelation here that goes beyond the romance found between two imperfect people. In the end, Abi teaches Burn that loving oneself is a path that he must choose to take alone. And that when you truly learn how to love yourself, only then can loving others come naturally and without fear.
