At the launch of the children’s footwear brand Bibi Philippines, former Star Circle Quest member Helga Krapf shared why she has been shying away from showbiz ever since she had her daughter Amelie two years ago. “I’m okay naman. I’m enjoying motherhood. I’m very hands on. I don’t have a yaya so enjoy na enjoy. I’m still breastfeeding. I think I’m a very hands-on mom. I got her name from the French movie. I like dressing her up medyo girly girly kasi she’s very active. Para siyang lalake so nilalaban ko na kailangan medyo finesse pero hindi ko na-a-achieve kasi she’s very active talaga siya. She’s running and climbing everywhere. Kaya nangayayat na ako sa kakahabol joke lang (laughs). Pero parang workout ko na rin siya,” she told PUSH.

The now 28-year-old mom of one said she is planning to go back to showbiz when Amelie is a little older. “Kailangan patience talaga kasi with the kid it’s hard to sometimes you have to try to understand kung ano yung gusto nilang mangyari, ganyan. They can’t express themselves properly yet. Siguro pag mas na-e-express na niya yung husto niyang sabihin, ganyan babalik ako sa acting. For now kasi I feel like ako yung mas nakakaramdam and ako yung nakakaintindi sa kanya so siguro maybe a year pa. One more year (laughs),” she explained.

Although she keeps in touch with fellow celebrity mommies like Melissa Ricks and Say Alonzo, Helga said she does miss life before giving birth. “Well yung time mo for yourself like any time you can do whatever you want. Pero enjoy ko rin naman yung time ko with her so it’s okay. Yung kids namin nila Melissa and Say magkasunod lang eh so we’ve kept in touch,” she said.

When it comes to acting, Helga said she has no hesitation accepting mommy roles now. “I do accept projects but mostly guestings muna but yung long term na soap hindi ko muna tinatanggap para makatutok ako sa kanya. Pero nasisingit ko naman like events like this. Siguro if I would go back to acting gusto ko yung kontrabida pa rin. Na-e-enjoy ko yung kontrabida roles. Lagi kasi siguro dahil mestiza ako, ganyan. Now nag-ma-mommy role na ako like nag-Ipaglaban Mo ako na mommy role. I don’t mind naman,” she shared.

Being married to a non-showbiz husband, Helga said he does not give her any restrictions when it comes to accepting roles. “He understands naman. Wala pa namang plan to have another baby pero sabi ko two lang. Siguro max na yung three pero now wala pang plan na sundan,” she added.
