Singer Claudia Barretto broke her silence and addressed the issue about her and her aunt Gretchen Barretto. It all started when a netizen asked Gretchen of her opinion regarding Claudia referring to her as “someone else.” Gretchen was obviously hurt and called her niece “ungrateful.”

After they made headlines, Gretchen clarified through an Instagram post that she did not mean to let Claudia be bashed online.

Gretchen, who is currently in Hong Kong, said that her daughter Dominique called her to clarify things with her cousin.

“Dominique gave me a call yesterday to please reach out to Claui & understand her & forgive her, Claui is considered Dominique's little sister & I consider Claui my very own child,” she shared.

“I am learning the very painful way that as a mother, we must be selfless, we must forgo Hurt , disappointment, we must be more understanding & patient. We must ignore the pain that our children make us feel , we must embrace them through their flaws & love them UNCONDITIONALLY.”

Claudia responded to the post and said that she did not mean to offend her. She said her statement was just taken out of context.

Ruffa Gutierrez was also moved by Gretchen’s gesture.
