Thanking everyone who made the movie My Ex and Whys a box-office success, director Cathy Garcia-Molina said that lead stars Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano greatly improved with their acting.

“Sobra, tito Boy, especially si Quen,” she told Boy Abunda on his late-night show Tonight with Boy Abunda, referring to LizQuen’s evolution as artists. “Si Quen kasi, lagi ‘yan sasabihin… They would always say, si Quen, the puppy eyes Quen. Si Quen na ang kunot ng noo. And in fairness to Quen, he was able to deliver. Tawag ko nga sa kanya rito, Quen in his simplest form. Sobrang subtle niyang ibinigay ang mga emotions na kailangan ko and delivered it very well.”

As for Liza, she said that she that she discovered her comedic side, “I found out that she can be funny, too.”

When asked if Enrique and Liza are a couple already, direk Cathy laughed and said, “Mukha naman nilang mahal ang isa’t isa, sabi nila sa ’yo.”
