On Tonight with Boy Abunda, Academy Award nominee and singer Hailee Steinfeld said her first love is music. “I started trying to pursue music at the same time as acting and the acting happened faster and first. And so the music kind of took a back seat, became more of a side project the last couple of years, but I think I really always secretly hoped that the music would happen for me through a movie and it’s totally happening.”

One of the songs in her album Haiz is “Love Yourself.” About the song, Hailee said, “’Love Myself’ is a self-empowerment anthem, that really represents and reminds people the importance of self-love and self-confidence.”

Another song from Haiz is “Rock Bottom.” “It's the idea that when we love someone so much, we almost allow them to drive us crazy because we love them. That's kind of Rock Bottom.”

Hailee also revealed her grandfather is a Filipino. “My grandfather is Filipino, my great-grandfather came from Bicol…from my mama’s side.” She added, “I’ve heard so many incredible things and my Papa, I think, really represented Filipinos with his pride and his passion.”

For this reason, Hailee said she feels right at home in the Philippines. “Being here has been incredible because I’m so far away from home but I feel as if I’m home because of that.”

On Fast Talk, Hailee was asked who the sexiest man in the world is and she answered with the help of the audience, “Joe Jonas. Zac Efron. There are so many sexy men in this world!”
