Jericho Rosales is set to topbill a new soap in ABS-CBN with Arci Munoz titled Never Ever Say Goodbye. In an interview with the actor, he shared that he is going to play the role of an ex-convict who happens to be in love with Arci’s character in the upcoming show.

“[Ang role ko is] ex-convict na romantic, as usual, pero mangingisda siya. Lover siya ni Arci at may best friend siya na si John (Estrada). Isa siyang ex-convict na struggling to have a good life and at the same time para makamtan niya muli ang pinakamamahal niya mula nong bata pa siya,” he said.

The actor admitted that he is actually nervous but excited to be doing a soap again. “Kasi siyempre alam ko na darating ‘to, ganon naman ang buhay ko eh pagkatapos ng isang show, ng isang movie, hintay, relax. Choice ko ‘yun eh tapos pag medyo lumampas na ako ng dalawang buwan, tatlong buwan doing my own thing feeling ko lagi, ‘Baik eskwela naman ako’ so ‘yun but ito na magsisimula na kami and ‘yung nervousness slowly becoming excitement.”

It will be the first time that Jericho gets to work with Arci. On what he is looking forward to working with the actress, he said, “[She’s] beautiful. Unfortunately hindi ko pa napapanood ang last film niya with Gerald (Anderson) and Dan (Villegas, director) I liked to watch that. I’m excited because I think we have a lot of things in common like music. Di ba naririnig ko na she’s a fun, loving girl so masaya sa set and excited lang ako kasi it’s a new partnership.”

Jericho has been doing project after project. What is the secret to his success? “God is good. Feeling ko parang I give kasi may heart and soul 101 percent and siyempre iniingatan ko ‘yung relationships dito sa industry and above all I never forget my purpose which is to give hope and inspiration sa mga trabaho kong ganyan eh. Always be humbe lang, allow yourself to be guided,” he said.

Jericho’s son Santino has been earning followers online recently. The actor was asked if whether or not he will allow his son to enter showbiz. He responded, “Susuportahan ko siya kung ano ang kanyang gagawin pero I am 100 percent sure kasi lagi kaming nag-uusap na sports ang gusto niya. Okay siya mag-commercials pag may dumating na pagkakataon pero to parang to give priority sa showbiz or I mean to think about it wala siyang time eh. School five days a week and then ang training niya four to five times a week also. Even on Sundays nasa training siya.”
