After putting it through a vote, Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez finally goes face-to-face with Miss Universe 2015 host Steve Harvey on the latter’s talk show, Tuesday evening (US Time).

After giving a heartfelt introduction into Ariadna’s humble beginnings, she came to the studio and tightly hugged Steve for a few moments and the latter relentlessly whispered his sincere apology to her.

After spending time with her family since the horrendous gaffe that Steve committed during the coronation night, Ariadna shared that she has now moved on from all of it.

“I needed time to be with my family to come down and to think what am I going to say now, what am I going to do now. I already moved on. This is our destiny that we are here,” she said.

But she did confess that it took her time to get her head around what happened “because I couldn’t stop thinking that ‘Oh my God it really happened’ and it was like a nightmare and I was like watching the videos and I can’t believe that happened to me.”

The gaffe has stirred not only the netizens around the globe but also the Colombians who ended up doing protests, burning effigies and expressing their outright dismay over the incident.

Ariadna stressed that she wasn’t really proud about how her countrymen reacted to the incident.

“You know Colombians are not like that. But we have to understand that people got angry because they felt like they got robbed of the crown,” she said.

She further explained that Colombians were really rooting for a back-to-back win and that even the Latin community felt bad and humiliated about it.

“It was so harsh to watch the show and that moment and I was like waving my little flag and I don’t know how to say now but it was like really, really harsh to watch it. I have to apologize for them because we’re not like that,” said Ariadna.

What probably worsened the blow of Steve’s gaffe, according to Ariadna, was the fact that she has always rooted for him during their Miss Universe rehearsals.

“You have to know that I was like talking great things about you like the whole time during rehearsals. I was like saying to everybody like, ‘oh my God I love Steve Harvey!’ I really did that because we were laughing the whole time,” she shared.

Ariadna continued, “We were really nervous about the question and answer and the people are like waiting for us to make mistakes so when you did that so I was like ‘Thank God we have a host like this!’ Then you made a mistake and I was like ‘I am talking good about him.’”

Another issue that was finally put to rest during the interview, was the legal issues. Reports had it that Ariadna was planning to sue Steve over his mistake.

The Colombian titleholder even jokingly told Steve: “Why? Are you scared? I’m going to take your mansion. You car, your mansion.”

When she turned serious, Ariadna clarified that the rumors weren’t true.

“No, I never thought of suing you. That’s not who I am,” she said. “But a lot of lawyers wanted me to do that. They only want publicity.”

In the end, Steve asked Ariadna what she thought of the way he handled his blunder.

“Is this for real? You have to learn how to read cards. It was on the card,” she said.
