052815-kiray_main.jpgAs one of the most petite teen actress in showbiz today, Kiray Celis admitted that being 19 and exactly four feet in height can be a big challenge. The petite actress said she has trained herself to always wear three to four inch heels when out in public. “Kailangan eh. You can walk, you can run. I collect shoes. Sobrang tiis ganda talaga,” she told Push.com.ph.

Even when it comes to dressing up, Kiray shared that she looks up to other petite actresses like Jolina Magdangal and Antoinette Taus, but her personal style is unique. Mahilig lang talaga ako mag-mix and match. Actually mahirap pumorma sa height ko kasi depende sa susuotin ko kung bagay or pangit tingnan dati mahilig ako sa mga short shorts and until now naman. Kasi yun yung bagay sa height ko. Maikli yung legs ko so I have to flaunt it.

For those who criticize her choice of skimpy or sometimes revealing clothing, Kiray said she dresses for no one but herself. Duh, I have to explain pa ba? Pero at least alam ko sa sarili ko na I'm not doing anything wrong. If makita mo man yung kuyukot ko well I don't care as long as maputi naman yung kuyukot ko (laughs). At saka sabi nila di ba if you have it flaunt it? Kung alam mong maitim itago mo. Kung nahihiya ka huwag mo ipakita pero kung kaya mo go, ganun,” she added.

In the movie Stars Versus Me, Kiray plays another funny and relatable role. She is easily one of the most likeable characters in the teen romantic drama. Like kung anong gusto mo susuportahan kita. Pero kung hindi naman go lang as long as you’re happy,” she said.

During a guest appearance on Kris TV, Kiray showed the public her SpongeBob collection at home. But the real story behind it is not what people think. “Actually nung bata pa ako favorite ko na si SpongeBob and then hanggang sa nawala siyempre nagdalaga kaya nakalimutan ko. The funny thing is I don't watch SpongeBob. I don't like SpongeBob and I don't watch him. I just love him (laughs). Pag nanunuod ako naiirita ako so hindi ako fan ng show niya pero fan ako ng mukha niya, get? Actually lahat nun regalo, hindi ako bumibili. So hindi talaga siya yung tipong collection kasi if you collect ikaw bibili di ba? Pero sobrang funny kapag nakikita nila na mga SpongeBob yung suot ko or minsan dala dala ko sa mga gamit ko sa taping color yellow or SpongeBob na kumot at unan so sila na mismo nag-re-regalo. Hindi ko na sila mabilang. Merong nagbigay sa akin kasing laki siya na tao na stuffed toy,” she said.

Watch Stars Versus Me starting June 3 starring Manolo Pedrosa, Maris Racal, Kiray Celis, Arlene Muhlach, and Rita Avila. Written and directed by Joven Tan.
