Luis Manzano couldn’t be any happier now that his The Voice of the Philippines co-host Toni Gonzaga is now engaged to boyfriend Paul Soriano.

“Kausap ko nga siya kagabi, si Toni sabi ko, ‘‘Oh kelan pa ‘yan?’ Kasi hindi ko masyadong napanood ‘yung The Buzz interview. Hindi ko talaga alam. I was on the way to Resort’s World hindi ko nakita ‘yung interview,” Luis said in an interview during the recently-concluded Kapamilya Deal or No Deal press launch.

The actor-host claimed that he absolutely had no idea about the couple’s engagement which happened last January 21.

“Sabi ko ‘Bakit hindi mo sinabi sa akin ‘yan sa lahat ng tao? Tapos ako pa eh alam mo naman na kung may sasabihin ka sa amin wala akong sasabihan.’ Eh hindi eh, ang daming rason,” he related their conversation.

Even though he was among the last to know about their engagement, Luis is very happy for them and is positive that they would lead a blissful married life.

He said, “Sabi ko nga it was totally long overdue. I’m sure tuloy-tuloy na ‘yan. It started as an engagement going to forever.”

Is he not pressured to propose to his very own girlfriend Angel Locsin? “Hindi naman karera ‘yan. Hindi naman mauna muna si Toni. Ang sakin naman everything comes so natural, that’s the best way to do it hindi lang dahi al nagpa-influence ka dito or dahil marami ng kinakasal. Hindi eh. I think to be influenced by that, especially sa marriage is very wrong,” Luis reasoned.

Toni and Paul’s proposal was a simple one that happened in front of the former’s parents at their home in Taytay.

Luis, for his part also expressed preference for a private proposal something like Toni and Paul’s saying that, “Feeling ko mas maganda ‘yung ganon. From my standpoint mas gusto ko ‘yun kasi mas intimate, mas natural na hindi naman kailangang ipagsigawan sa buong mundo. That’s my take on it. To each his own.”

Luis admitted that he already has a concept in mind as to how his proposal with Angel would go however he admitted that he hasn’t found an engagement ring yet.

Luis is the returning host of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal which will start airing on February 9.

This season the 24K girls, who are known for holding the briefcases, will be replaced with 20 Lucky Stars. These Lucky Stars will be composed of a teen heartthrob, beauty queen, comedian, character actor, sexy actress, and a lot more.
