090514-anne3_main.jpgAnne Curtis remained on a high over the positive reception about her newest film offering, The Gifted, together with Cristine Reyes and Sam Milby. “Sobra kasi kaming overwhelmed,” said Anne in an interview at the launch of the newest variants of feminine brand Lactacyd held at Crowne Plaza in Ortigas on September 4.

It took almost a year to shoot the movie due to their tight schedules. “So parang makita mo siya ng buo, nakakaiyak. Sobra lang kaming happy kasi ang ganda at sobra lang kaming naging proud,” she added.

The actress-host who is been best known for taking on dramatic and somewhat daring roles took on another genre in this latest Chris Martinez-helmed dark comedy flick. “Fictionally dark,” she corrected. “So parang all out mean girl talaga siya.”

She explained that the genre has been explored in the US for the longest time, as in the case of Mean Girls and Jawbreaker. She noted, “Tayo wala pa tayong ganon. Why not try it ‘di ba?

“And Direk Chris, the way he did it, it was his story eh. Ang galing. Hindi trying hard,” Anne emphasized.

The It’s Showtime host also gave credit to her two co-stars and their director who also happened to be the film’s screenwriter. “Sabi ko nga kay AA [Cristine], ‘Hindi man tayo love team pero iba talaga ang chemistry natin girl!’” she shared.

Hindi kami love team pero iba talaga ang onscreen chemistry namin ni AA,” she said. “Even with Sam also, he did really great on this film.”

Anne, who was also there at the premiere, was practically clueless as to why Cristine suddenly left her and Sam for the press to interview. “Hindi ko nga napansin ‘yung walkout eh. Kasi nagchichikahan kami ni Sam. Kitang-kita nga eh… Kasi I watched nga the video, pag-watch ko, kitang-kita kami ni Sam chumichika kami,” Anne related.

If she was questioned the same way, would she have walked out as well? “I really don’t know kasi ‘yun nga, you can’t really put yourself in that situation unless you are actually in the situation,” said the Lactacyd Cool and Fresh brand ambassador. “So I wouldn’t know.”

According to the Anne, she has yet to speak with Cristine after the controversial incident.

In other news, as early as now, Anne clarified that The Gifted has no planned sequel “pero to work with Direk Chris again, I’d love to do that.”

Anne revealed that she will be embarking on a new project soon. “Another movie [which] will be showing in October,” she happily revealed. “Basta abangan niyo, after The Gifted i-a-announce ko agad-agad.”

Meanwhile, as an actress Anne is well aware that, similar to the demands of the different roles that she’s portraying onscreen, different women need different kinds of caring, which is exactly what the new range of Lactacyd’s feminine care line is offering. To celebrate the joy of femininity, Lactacyd recently came up with five new feminine care variants after some ideal destinations namely London, Bali, New York, Maldives, and Tokyo.
