In the January 5 episode of

Kris TV,

Janelle Manahan revealed that she and the late Ramgen Revilla had been living together the entire time that they were a couple. She was only 17 years old when they started their relationship. Not only did she give up her fledgling showbiz career, but she also defied her parents just to be with him at the time. “

Opo,

[

ka

-batch

ko si

Erich Gonzales].

Nag-a

-artista

ako nung

time

na yun.

Six months after

ng

relationship,

tumigil ako. Ayaw niya

[

akong mag-

artista]

kasi wala po akong

time

sa kanya. E gusto niya

24/7

kami magkasama palagi.

So

tinigil ko yung

showbiz and

na

-disappoint

na naman sila

mommy.”

Janelle’s mom Rosario Quintana, who was based in Legazpi province, further shared that she was unaware about her daughter’s living arrangements for a long time. “Of course I was very disappointed

kasi

she was too young at that time.

. That time

kasi

she was living with her aunt

sa

Quezon City. So I thought

nandun lang siya,

so

hindi ko alam na

all the while

nandun na pala siya kina

Ramgen. And I thought

nung nandun siya kina

Ramgen,

wala talaga siya sa

house

nila

Ramgen,

na nandun siya

somewhere in Cavite

na siya lang at yung yaya niya

[

ang magkasama

], so

yun ang alam ko

.” This revelation was surprising enough to even render

Kris TV

host Kris Aquino speechless for a few seconds.

On hindsight, Janelle admitted she gave up everything for Ramgen, thinking that he was really the one she’d end up marrying. But after all what happened, she realized the value of her parents, especially now that they’re the only ones she can depend on with the ongoing murder investigation. “

Kasi

before,

aminado naman talaga ako na na

-neglect

ko sila

before because of Ramgen.

Kasi

feeling

that I neglected everything and everybody.”

Nevertheless, Janelle said she knows that everything happens for a reason, including the fact that she survived the tragic incident and became a witness to the case. “I was supposed to be in La Union a day before pa with friends and my cousin. Not

naman po pinigil na sinabi niyang

[

huwag ako pumunta

],

pero dini

-delay

niya yung lakad ko. Gumagawa siya ng

plans

na kami na lang magkasama

instead

na pumunta ako dun kaya n

a

g

-stay

po ako... Basta

every night

po

, whenever I pray, I always cry. Not

naman lahat

[because of] sadness. Of course, I’m really grateful that I’m alive.

Pero siyempre nami

-miss

ko talaga si

Ramgen

kaya naiiyak talaga ako

and until now

hindi ko pa talaga natatanggap yung nangyari. Pero iniisip ko na lang

everything happens for a reason. And

kung bakit ako nabuhay?

It’s maybe because to give justice to what happened.”

If there’s anything she deeply regrets though, it’s the fact that she wasn’t able to say “I love you” to her boyfriend before he passed away. “

for a while

makausap ko

ulit siya, kahit sa

dream.

that day. Even though

buong araw siyang nag

-I love you [

sa

akin

].

-I love you

sa ‘yo, parang

feeling mo

‘di na totoo, parang

OA (over acting). So that day

talaga,

[even with the] smallest things,

mag-te

-thank you

siya sa akin, mag-a

-I love yo
